Flows of foreign direct investment to India are better than last year, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Friday, but warned outflows of portfolio investments were a matter of concern.

Mukherjee said the government's move to allow foreign investment in supermarkets was needed to keep India's growth rate high.
