Godrej scion to build his group’s property biz

Pirojsha Godrej, the youngest child and only son of Parameswar and Adi Godrej, is ready to join India Inc. Having being groomed in the family business as a manager (corporate development), Pirojsha is shaping the future of the group’s real estate business as executive director of Godrej Properties, reports Lalatendu Mishra.

Having being groomed in the family business as a manager (corporate development), Pirojsha after completing his MBA from Colombia Business School in 2008, is shaping the future of the group’s real estate business as executive director of Godrej Properties.

Although the Rs 227 crore Godrej Properties is run by a team of professionals led by managing director Milind Korde, Pirojsha is giving it an international perspective and is setting up processes that would enable the company to emerge as India’s most trusted name in the sector.

The company has 404 acres of land reserves: about 79 million sq ft of developable area.

Pirojsha’s elder sisters have chosen marketing and group strategy — Tanya is executive director & president (marketing) of the group and Nisa is executive vice-president (new business development) of Godrej Agrovet; Pirojsha has gone for the fastest growing arm of the Rs 8,000 crore Godrej Group: real estate.

Cousin Novroze, Jamshyd Godrej’s son, oversees Godrej & Boyce; uncle Nadir’s children are yet to join the family business.
