HT Media Q4 net grows 17% to Rs 49.3 cr, revenue 7% to Rs 626.7 cr

HT Media Ltd, which publishes Hindustan Times, has posted a 16.8% year-on-year growth in net profit to Rs 49.3 crore for the fourth-quarter ended March 31, 2015, compared to Rs 42.2 crore a year ago.

HT Media Ltd, which publishes Hindustan Times, has posted a 16.8% year-on-year growth in net profit to Rs 49.3 crore for the fourth-quarter ended March 31, 2015, compared to Rs 42.2 crore a year ago.

Total revenue increased 7% to Rs 626.7 crore during the quarter against Rs 585.9 crore a year ago.

For the full-year ended March 31, 2015, net profit fell 6.2% to Rs 217.9 crore, while total revenues grew 4% to Rs 2,457.3 crore.

The board also approved a dividend of Rs 0.40 per share for the year.

“We ended the year on a high note on the back of a growth in ad revenue and higher circulation in Mumbai and the Hindi belt,” said Shobhana Bhartia, chairperson, HT Media. “Our digital businesses grew handsomely and are at an inflection point. Radio continues to do well and we will invest in growth. With a strong base, our focus on digital initiatives and stronger tailwinds in the economy, we are confident of delivering value to shareholders,” Bhartia added.
