L&T Q2 net up 32%

Engineering firm Larsen and Toubro on Wednesday announced a profit-after-tax of Rs 460.3 crore, a 32.3 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had a net profit of Rs 348 crore for the second quarter of the fiscal, L&T said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The total income rose 40 per cent to Rs 7,842.3 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 5,614.5 in the same period last fiscal.

For the six months ended on September 30, L&T reported a net profit of Rs 962.7 crore, a 32.9 per cent growth over the same period a year-ago. It had a net profit of Rs 724.9 crore in the corresponding period in FY'08.
