"We are looking at a double-digit growth this year. We have now a whole range of products that are being launched immediately," Mercedes-Benz India's CEO and MD Wilfried Aulbur told reporters after launching two E-Class car models in Mumbai.

Mercedes-Benz India, fully owned by Daimler, manufactures cars and trucks in India at its Pune facility. The company has drawn-up aggressive growth plans with huge investments in Chennai, Aulbur said, without giving details.

"We are increasing our engagement in India with Indian suppliers. We are getting additional support in engineering and logistics that we are building up to make sure that we can leverage the advantages of India more aggressively," he said.

The company has made Rs 250-crore investment in its Pune facility, which has a capacity of 5,000 vehicles and can go up to 12,000 vehicles.
