Pension scheme for the poor

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee launched the Swavalamban pension scheme for the unorganised sector in Murshidabad on Sunday.

The government will contribute R1,000 per annum for each NPS account in 2010-11 where the minimum monthly contribution is R100 and the maximum annual contribution is R12,000. It will be extended for another three years.
