Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE) has entered a joint venture with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone. The alliance will create Electric City — a multi-platform digital animated Internet series for online social gaming and mobile applications conceived and written by Hanks. It will be a series offering a view of the future of civilisation.
The initiative, spanning various digital platforms, is expected to help RBE generate newer revenue streams. "Reliance’s strength in the entertainment space combined with Zapak’s expertise in the digital world, and Playtone’s demonstrated creative and production acumen, will create an exciting and magical experience in the digital space," said Amitabh Jhunjhunwala of Reliance ADA group.
