Sensex closes 206 points higher

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets today closed 206 points higher than its previous close. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty shut shop 1.09% higher at 5,798.95 points.

The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,178.77 points, closed at 19,327.65 points, up 206.85 points or 1.08% from its previous close at 19,120.8 points.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty shut shop 1.09% higher at 5,798.95 points.

Broader markets also ended in the positive. The BSE midcap index closed 1.55% up, while the BSE smallcap moved up 2.23%.
