Sensex up 118 points in early trade

The benchmark index touches an intra-day high of 15,661.44 points in first five minutes of trading.

The benchmark Sensex extended its previous day's gain and rose by over 118 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday tracking global trend.

The 30-share index, Sensex, surged by 118.67 points over its previous day close to touch an intra-day high of 15,661.44 points in first five minutes of trading.

Similarly, the wide-base National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, rose by 34.45 points 4531.50.
