Sensex up 319 points in early trade

The 30-share index, Sensex, rises by 318.69 points to 20,094.56 points in first five minutes of trade.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index gained 319 points in early trade on Friday on aggressive buying by funds in banking and metal shares.

The 30-share index, Sensex, which remained bullish in the last three trading sessions, rose by 318.69 points to 20,094.56 points in first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, spurted by 87.40 points to 6,042.10 point as heavy -weight stocks like Bhel, Reliance, SBI and ICICI recorded handsome gains.

Firm global trend also boosted the trading sentiment to some extent.
