The stock market shed initial losses and rallied by about 58 points during late Thursday morning trade on pick-up in purchases by Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs).

After touching a low of 14,176.42 in the initial 15 minutes of trade, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) 30-share index Sensex later bounced back and was quoted at 14,313.53 at 11 am, registering a gain of 57.60 points over Wednesday's close of 14,255.93.

The broader S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also rebounded from a low of 4,130.50 and was quoted at 4,209.20, a 10.95 points rise over previous close of 4,198.25.
A couple of leading foreign funds were seen making purchases during late morning trading, brokers said.
