The fall in tariff would benefit all the three segments of landline, CDMA mobile and fixed wireless customers.

The new flat rate of Rs 4.80 per minute would be applicable from March 7 till March 31, after which the new interconnect user regime would come into effect, TTSL said in a statement.

This tariff would be applicable to six circles of Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Two days ago, BSNL slashed STD rates by 47 per cent for distance beyond 500 kms to Rs 4.80 per minute from the existing Rs 9.

Earlier, BSNL had cut mobile-to-mobile STD tariffs to Rs 4.80 per minute from Rs 9 beyond 500 kms, while retaining the existing rates for below 500 km categories.
