Viswanath Malagi, company secretary of the Tata Metaliks, told Hindustan Times, “ The state government has done nothing for the project. Therefore it is better to quit the expansion project.”

The West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation has acquired about 200 acres at rate of four lakh rupees per acre. But now the owners are demanding almost double that price. As a result, the entire land acquisition process has been delayed, according to a senior official of the commerce and industry department.
