Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will hire around 25,000 fresh engineering graduates through campus placements in the next fiscal as there is a robust demand for IT services across the globe, the company's chief executive and managing director N Chandrasekaran told HT on Monday.

The final figure is likely to be higher when the company adds up its requirements for lateral employees, which will be revealed a couple of months.

In 2013-14, TCS has hired around 50,000 employees of which over 23,000 were fresh engineering graduates recruited through campus placements.

"All hiring and subsequent joining of employees is well on track. We will announce the total number of people required over the next couple of months, but yes, we will hire around 25,000 fresh engineering graduates during the next fiscal," Chandrasekaran said.

He dismissed concerns that increased local recruitment across US and Europe could have adverse impact on its India hiring. "Our maximum hiring comes only from India and this is expected to continue."

Chandrasekaran was optimistic about outsourcing deals from US and Europe and said discussions with client firms indicate an up-tick in IT deals and discretionary spend.
