"We have finalised Shimoga (a district headquarters town in Karnataka). It (Shimoga) should have 250 to 300 people", Managing Director of Momenta Global's services subsidiary, Momenta Info Services, Sriharsha Subbanna told PTI here.

He said the USD 200 million group, focused on technology, telecom, media and knowledge management, is also looking at setting up a software development centre in Nagpur in Maharashtra and another location in north India.

"We currently have 300 people in India. The headcount is expected to go up to 900 in the next three to five years", Subbanna said, adding, the privately-held company plans to invest USD 40 million to USD 50 million for expansion activities, including forays in Singapore and Malaysia where it would position customer acquisition teams.

Momenta is looking to manage some 1000-2000 rural telecentres expected to come up in the next few months.
