Auto giant Maruti's Alto is considered one of its most successful and affordable cars. A new version of the family car is likely to be launched on August 18. The new Alto will be equipped with latest features including a new cabin, updated powertrain option to name a few, Hindustan Times' sister publication Live Hindustan reported.
An interesting thing to note is that the new Alto will be bigger in size than the existing versions. It will have updated headlamps, new bumper design, bigger taillights at the rear. Maruti will offer features like a big touchscreen system, power-operated outside rear view mirror (OVRM), Apple Carplay etc.
The new Alto is expected to be powered by a new 1.0L K10C dual jet petrol engine. It generates power of 67 HP (horse power) and 89 Newton-metre. The buyers will also get to pick affordable version of CNG Powertrain.

It is expected that the new Maruti Alto will be costlier than the existing version. The base variant ex-showroom price in Delhi is expected to be around ₹3.50-4.50 lakh rupees.
Recently, Maruti discontinued the manufacture of K10 and 800cc models, one of the oldest cars of the group. They have been the highest selling cars in India since launch in 2000.
