What powers the TVS Apache RTX 300?

TVS Apache RTX 300 is the first motorcycle that uses the brand's new RTX D4 engine. It is a 299 cc, liquid-cooled motor that puts out 35 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

The engine manages vibrations a lot better than the 310 cc unit that we have seen on the Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 310. However, the vibrations are still present. On paper, there are 35 horses for you to play with. However, out on the road, the RTX 300 feels very approachable as it delivers the power in a very gentle and linear manner. At no point is there a sudden surge of power. Having said that, there is some twitchiness in the throttle.

The gearbox on duty is a 6-speed unit with a bi-directional quickshifter. It is not as smooth as the one found on the 310s. However, at high rpms, the quickshifter is smooth and slick. There is also a slipper clutch on offer, which makes the clutch action very light.
