100 new buses soon

The Punjab transport department is set to buy 100 buses for Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC). A government spokesperson said that the new buses would be added to the fleet soon. The corporation has invited tenders for fabrication of the bodies of the buses before October 22. With the arrival of these 55-seat buses, the PRTC's fleet strength will increase to 1,150. At present, the PRTC has 1,050 buses, including 700 ordinary, two integral coaches, 59 HVAC, 249-km scheme buses and 11 integral coaches under the kilometre scheme.
