11 officers held in graft cases in Sept

The Punjab vigilance bureau has been catching an officer every third day for taking bribe, as 11 were arrested in graft cases in September. Besides, traps have been laid on complaints and five government officers named in disproportionate asset cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, a bureau spokesman said here on Wednesday.

Of the trap cases in which officials were arrested for accepting bribe, challans have been filed in seven. The VB initiated fresh inquiries in 19 cases.
