Two cases of carjacking incidents were reported in the city late on Sunday.
In both cases, which took place in Jagraon and Gill village, the car owners were robbed at gun point.
A Toyata Fortuner owned by Chandigarh-based industrialist Anshu Kataria was robbed at a dhabha in Jagraon on Sunday evening.
Inspector Mohammad Zameel, station house officer (SHO) at the Jagraon police station, said when Kataria along with his family stopped at a dhabha in Jagraon, two unidentified persons possessing weapons threatened them and looted their car and fled towards Ludhiana.
The Jagraon police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the case.
In a similar incident, four car-borne persons looted a Swift from a trader at gun point at Gill village on the outskirts of the city late on Sunday.
In his complaint to the police, Sahil Kant, a trader from Sangrur, said that when he was on his way to Ludhiana from Sangrur along with his friend Ankur Chhabra, the latter started vomiting after they reached near Gill village due to which he had stopped his car.
He alleged that it was around 10.30pm when four miscreants sitting in a Verna came and snatched the keys of the car from him.

{{/usCountry}}The accused also took cash from him and fled towards Malerkotla, Kant alleged.
The complainant further alleged that accused possessed a revolver and single barrel gun with them.
The Sadar Police have initiated investigation into the case.
Inspector Jatinderjeet Singh, station house officer at the Sadar police station, said that the mobile phone of Ankur was lying inside the car and police were tracing the last location of the mobile to nab the accused.
Meanwhile, a case was registered against the unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
