3 booked on charges ofburning car acquitted

A local court on Saturday acquitted three residents of Mauli Jagran, booked on charges of burning a vehicle, after the complainant turned hostile.

A local court on Saturday acquitted three residents of Mauli Jagran, booked on charges of burning a vehicle, after the complainant turned hostile.

Those acquitted have been identified as Rustaum, Lakhan and Dharam Raj. The trio were booked by the UT police on the complaint of Suman Somkar, a resident of Mauli Jagran. They were booked under Section 436 (mischief by fire with intent to destroy) after they allegedly set Volkswagen Vento owned by Suman on fire, leaving it damaged. The case was registered on December 25, 2012.

The court acquitted all three accused after the complainant and witnesses turned hostile.
