More than 2,000 vehicles were checked and a total of 437 were challaned. The authority collected Rs 8.48 lakh as compounding fee.

STA secretary Mahavir Kaushik advised the motorists to carry all required documents - registration certificate (RC), insurance, driving licence, pollution control certificate and permit. School and school bus operators were also advised to engage only those drivers who have the experience of minimum five years of driving heavy vehicle. School authorities and school bus operators have also been advised to follow the norms laid down by the administration on the basis of the Supreme Court.
