Talking to reporters in Chandigarh on Friday, AAP national executive member Sanjay Singh demanded that the case either be probed under the high court monitoring or be handed over to a retired judge to bring out the truth.

Alleging involvement of the state government in the drug racket case, Singh said AAP would lend support to former DGP (prisons) Shashi Kant in his fight against drug menace in the state and violations of human rights by police personnel.

"The government is trying to muzzle the independent voices. Today, the case of kidnapping of Shashi Kant has come to light. We will extend him full support in his cause," Singh said in the briefing held at the residence of Shashi Kant in Chandigarh.

When asked, Shashi Kant denied he would fight election on the AAP ticket.

Talking about AAP's activities in Punjab, Singh said they would not forge an alliance with any party in the coming elections but would welcome people from all parties to come together to send good candidates to Parliament.
