The district administration on Tuesday directed all schools in the district to make arrangements for the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on the occasion of Teacher's Day on September 5.
Additional deputy commissioner (development) Baljit Singh Sandhu called a meeting of all sub-divisional magistrates, executive officers of municipal councils and officials of various departments and directed schools and district officials to prepare for the live telecast on Doordarshan and other channels between 3.30 pm and 4.45 pm.
Sandhu also directed the district education officers, both secondary and elementary, to cooperate with schools for the programme's success.
He said district administration would also seek help from parent-teacher associations.
