The commission agents even met the District Food Supply Controller in this regard but the issue remained unresolved.

Later, agents met local MLA Vinod Sharma who assured them that he would take up the matter with the Haryana chief minister at the earliest.

Recently, the district administration of Ambala has issued an order whereby procurement agencies were directed not to purchase wheat being brought by farmers from Punjab areas.

Notably, the Haryana government has already put a ban on purchase of wheat from farmers of Uttar Pradesh in state's grain market in the wake of space shortage.

Protesting agents did not allow procurement agencies to purchase wheat at the grain market, as a result of which farmers coming from villages of Ambala could not sell their crop.

A large quantity of wheat arrives in Ambala grain market from the villages of Punjab. So far about 15,000 quintals of wheat has been brought here by Punjab farmers to sell.
