Annual exam: PSEB alters distribution of marks

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will hold the annual examination for students of classes 9 to 12 in March 2013. It was in June this year that Punjab education minister Sikandar Singh Maluka had announced scrapping of the semester system for these classes.

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will hold the annual examination for students of classes 9 to 12 in March 2013.

It was in June this year that Punjab education minister Sikandar Singh Maluka had announced scrapping of the semester system for these classes.

Each paper will be of 75 marks 50 for the written exam and 25 for the continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE). Earlier, each paper carried 100 marks written exam (70) and CCE (30).
The examination timings will be the same: 9 am to 12:15 pm, with students getting 15 minutes for reading the question paper.

School principals have been instructed to inform subject teachers to cover the syllabus according to the latest directions issued by the board.
