The General Officer Commanding of the Nagrota-based 16 Corps, Lt Gen Tej Sapru, has been appointed as Presiding Officer of the inquiry with General Officers Commanding of two infantry divisions, of the rank of Major General, being appointed members of the inquiry.

Some of the stores which have been purchased and are in the spotlight include Tent Extendable Frame Supported (TEFS), snow boots, coat parkas, igloos and jerseys.

Senior army officers revealed that irregularities came to light wherein the Army Commander’s Special Financial Powers have been allegedly used to make purchases by Ordnance stores, not required in the first place.
