Badal finalises projects worth Rs 6,000 cr for basic amenities

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday finalised projects worth Rs 6,000 crore to ensure basic amenities across the state. Badal finalised these projects during a meeting with senior officials of companies including Larsen & Toubro Limited, Shapoorji Pallonji Group here, said an official release.

Badal finalised these projects during a meeting with senior officials of companies including Larsen & Toubro Limited, Shapoorji Pallonji Group here, said an official release.

Badal said the project should be completed within next one and half year.

"It should be ensured that all amenities are made available and operational on 10-years maintenance basis by December 2016," he said.

Badal said the project envisions complete water supply, sewerage, solid waste management, sewerage treatment plants, street lights, water supply and sewerage connections to each house.

Deputy CM said that the project would be awarded to companies on turnkey basis to ensure the smooth flow of civic services.

Badal said Punjab was also contemplating to give incentive to those companies which complete projects within stipulated time.
