Badal okays a panel for Sri Guru Ravidass Memorial

In a bid to propagate the rich legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass, the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday approved an eleven-member concept committee for the finalisation of the Sri Guru Ravidass Memorial to come up at village Khuralgarh near Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur district.

In a bid to propagate the rich legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass, the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday approved an eleven-member concept committee for the finalisation of the Sri Guru Ravidass Memorial to come up at village Khuralgarh near Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur district.

Presiding over a high-level meeting at Punjab Bhawan, CM gave his nod to the concept committee to be headed by cultural affairs minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur besides chief parliamentary secretary irrigation SS Thandal, chief parliamentary secretary local government Som Parkash, Sant Nirmal Dass Jaurewale, Sant Surinder Dass Kathar, Lekh Raj Parwana,. Dharampal Singal, Prof Jasbir Singh Sabar, HS Kaler and Siri Ram Arsh (all eminent scholars). RL Kalsia would be the convener of the committee.

Badal also approved requisite funds for the conduct of the meetings of Sri Guru Ravidass Yadgar Foundation from time to time. The meeting also deliberated upon the formation of executive committee to be headed by cultural affairs minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur.

The CM also gave approval to appoint Harminder Singh, additional deputy commissioner Hoshiarpur as chief executive officer of the executive committee.
