After resentment from traders over non-fulfilment of their demands, Congress candidate Pawan Bansal on Sunday assured the traders and industrialists that the issue of converting leasehold property into freehold would be taken up on priority after elections.
Taking a dig at opposition candidates, Bansal said he would only solve the problems of the city, not the people from Mumbai, who would board their flight back on April 10.
Speaking to the media after a public rally in Mauli Jagran, Bansal said obsolete building bylaws would soon be a thing of the past and efforts would also be made to ensure that consumers were not jolted by the electricity tariff hike.
He agreed that the conversion issue had been hanging fire for several years, but added that the matter was already being looked into and deliberated at different levels.
Bansal agreed that the building and other bylaws were archaic, but assured the residents, traders and industrialists of bringing about a change in the regulations.
