BBMB surpasses power generation target

Power generation by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) during the past nine months, ending in December 2014, has surpassed the target set by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) by 14%. A total of 8,684 million units (MU) were generated against the target of 7,613 MU.

The power plants at Bhakra, Dehar and Pong also exceeded plant-wise targets set by the CEA. During the past four years (2010-14), the BBMB’s annual power generation has been 10% to 26% higher than the CEA targets.
