With not much campaigning to do on Sunday in the run-up to the elections, candidates of different student parties at Panjab University could be seen going for grooming sessions, as they want to look their best while delivering speeches Monday onwards. Others, too, were seen making most of the holiday.
On Monday, all parties will announce their panels after which candidates will deliver speeches. While the girl supporters of different parties were busy writing speeches and making banners in the hostels, the boys and a couple of prospective girl candidates were busy with quick grooming sessions.
Manoj Lubana, campus president of SOPU, was looking all fresh with his 'spiked' hair at the party's tent at around 12:30 pm on Sunday. When asked where was he was coming from, he said, with a shy smile, "from the saloon".
"Past several days have been really busy and it was just on Sunday that we had time for a grooming session," said Manoj. Besides the prospective candidates, their supporters who would be joining them in delivering speeches could also be seen making most of the Sunday.
Chetna, a student from department of English, said, "Everybody wants to look good and with so much action on the campus no one would like to go unnoticed. Most girls in the hostels are spending time in parlours as they want to look good when student parties come for delivering speeches."

{{/usCountry}}The saloons inside the girl hostels and the only one in Panjab University are brimming with students. It's a great time for business and the rush is so huge that workers at beauty parlours are sending students back and asking them to come on appointment.
Mohhamad Sayed, owner of a beauty parlour in the campus market, says, "My hands are full and being Sunday several girls have visited the parlour since morning. I had to send many back and then there are others who have taken appointments and the same will continue till Monday."
