Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday said that party leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal's statements against him had reinforced public impression on who was hand in glove with whom.

"Good that she has finally spoken the Akali language publicly, thus clearing all doubts in the minds of people," the state Congress chief said. "When she endorses Akalis' allegations against me, she has forgone the moral authority to speak on behalf of party workers," he said.

"Does she mean to say that the Akalis are justified in having registered over 50,000 cases against Congress workers in retaliation to my vendetta against them?"

Amarinder also asked Bhattal to furnish details of donors - who, as allegedly claimed by her, donated Rs 500 crore to the party - so that these could be forwarded to the All India Congress Committee for a thorough probe.

Rebutting Bhattal's charges that he was solely responsible for the party's defeat in the assembly elections, he asked her had that really been the case, why could she not get her candidates to win.
