Disgruntled senior Congress leader Birender Singh, who would be formally inducted into the BJP at a rally in Jind on August 16, may throw his hat in the ring from Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi against chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in the forthcoming assembly polls in state.
He, however, added that if need be he can also contest from Uchana assembly segment. Birender, who is also cousin of Hooda, stated this while addressing a press conference in Rohtak after inaugurating the office of a supporter's organisation. He said he would publicly announce his political decision at the scheduled Jind rally in the presence of BJP chief Amit Shah.
Notably, training guns at Hooda, Birender had declared not to contest poll under the banner of the Congress in the state and had announced to switch sides if he was not placated with the chief minister's post.
Responding to a query over contesting poll after his induction into the saffron party, he said it depends on his supporters' sentiments. If they pressurise him, he may not shy away from contesting against chief minster Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi, he said.

He also cited his long association with Rohtak by saying he had spent a large part of his life as a student here. Birender's supporters Sudhir Phogat and Amit Kajal had organised two programmes at different places for him.
