Meanwhile, family of the deceased has given an ultimatum to the Derabassi municipal council for the removal of encroachment on the street by main accused Rakesh Mehta.

The local police had arrested four persons, including Mehta, on the charge killing Bittu on February 14. Though seven persons - Mehta, Shiv Tony, Joga, Rakesh, Ranbir, Gurmail and Harbhajan - were named in the FIR, the police had arrested only Mehta, giving a clean chit to the rest.

Family of the deceased had been demanding the arrest of rest of the accused.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the police investigations, Bittu's family, led by Congress leader Manpreet Kaur Dolly, met DGP Sumedh Singh Saini and urged reinvestigation in the case.
The DGP has marked an inquiry to the ADGP (crime). However, Dolly said the family would demand for a CBI inquiry if they were deprived of justice.

Bittu's brothers Vipan and Ramesh warned authorities of holding a protest before the DMC office on Tuesday if they failed to remove the encroachment.
