BJP projects Aggarwal's induction as jolt to INLD

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday projected the induction of Ramnath Aggarwal to the party as a major jolt to Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) as Aggarwal is INLD candidate from Panchkula Kulbhushan Goyal's uncle.

When Aggarwal met Chandigarh BJP chief Sanjay Tandon in the morning, he is learnt to have said that he was being harassed by INLD members.

While addressing BJP workers at a function in Sector 10 here, Aggarwal said he was being threatened by INLD members for not supporting his nephew Goyal and for stating that the INLD was indulging in hooliganism.

Among prominent present at the function were BB Singhal, Sanjay Ahuja, Sat Parkash Aggarwal, Mahesh Garg, S.K. Jain and Anil Thapar, among others.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate from Panchkula Gian Chand Gupta intensified his election campaign by holding several public meetings in different parts of the city.

While addressing a gathering during his campaign, Gupta said he was shocked to see the state of villages in the constituency, which had not developed during the Congress regime.

Later in the evening, he carried out a door-to-door campaign in Sector 15 and 11 markets.

The Residents Welfare Association in Sector 20 organised a debate for Panchula candidates from various parties.
During the debate, problems faced by residents were discussed.
