BJP says hard work paid off

Elated over the party’s win after three consecutive defeats, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers carried out victory processions on Friday evening. Newly elected MP Kirron Kher, along with senior party leader Satya Pal Jain and Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon, began the procession from Sector 26, where votes were being counted, on a open vehicle.

Elated over the party’s win after three consecutive defeats, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers carried out victory processions on Friday evening.

Newly elected MP Kirron Kher, along with senior party leader Satya Pal Jain and Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon, began the procession from Sector 26, where votes were being counted, on a open vehicle.

With slogans of ‘Har Har Modi’, ‘Kirron Kher Zindabad’ and ‘Narendra Modi Zindabad’, the procession, which saw party workers in large numbers, passed through Sectors 28, 27, 19, 18, 22, 23 37, 36, 35, 34, 44 and 45, before it culminated at the party of fice at Sector 33. Senior party leader Harmohan Dhawan also joined the procession for a while.

Talking about the verdict later, Tandon thanked people of the city for reposing their faith in the party and its candidate Kirron Kher.

“Kirron Kher has emerged as a new ray of hope for Chandigarh by putting a brake on the 15-year Congress misrule,” he said.

Expressing his gratitude towards the party cadre, he said that they left no stone unturned for ensuring Kher’s victory.
