Punjab government on Friday appointed Brig JS Arora (retd) as director, Sainik Welfare Board, after the approval of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Brig Arora, who was commissioned in 1981, served in the army for 33 years. His key postings included as a brigadier (operational logistics) in the Kashmir valley, a spokesman said here.
