A day after slamming Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa while addressing the media after the launch of his mass contact programme in Jalandhar, Amritsar MP and deputy leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh on Thursday expressed condolence with Bajwa here following his mother's death recently.
Amarinder, who was accompanied by Punjab Congress Legislature Party leader Sunil Jakhar and a few Congress MLAs, arrived here at 11.30am and went straight to the house of Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Congress MLA from Fatehgarh Churrian, and after staying there for half an hour, went to Bajwa's house, where he expressed sympathy with Bajwa and his family before leaving for Gurdaspur.
Though the media was not allowed inside Bajwa's house during the meeting of the two leaders, the leaders present there anticipated a patch-up between the two.
Even while addressing the media at the house of Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, the former chief minister did not speak even a single word against Partap Singh Bajwa and asked the Congress workers to get united to face the Akalis in the assembly elections in 2017.
