Addressing the media in Chandigarh on Saturday, senior BJP leader and former MP Satya Pal Jain, along with party's local unit chief Sanjay Tandon, said that BJP was examining the case 'politically' as well as 'legally' and would intervene at an appropriate time.

While giving out copies of the CBI charge sheet in Railgate scam case to the mediapersons, the BJP leader claimed that CBI, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi's political adviser Ahmed Patel, owed an explanation to the nation as to why they have not clarified their positions in the case.

"In some of the call recordings, the accused can be heard referring to names of Rahul Gandhi and Ahmed Patel. It appears, both these leaders were also in the loop in some way or the other… We want to know as to why CBI did not called them for questioning," Jain questioned.

The BJP leader also hinted that party would take up the issue in the forthcoming Parliament session and the BJP's Parliamentary board would decide about it in the meeting scheduled for August 3.

Reacting to Pawan Bansal's recent statement wherein the Congress leader had said that he was a victim of a 'conspiracy', the BJP leader wanted to know as to whom he was referring to.
The BJP leader demanded that Pawan Bansal be made an accused in the Railgate scam, saying that there were various references in the recorded transcripts which indicated that Bansal knew everything about the moves of his nephew.

"We demand that CBI make Bansal an accused in the supplementary charge sheet," the BJP leaders said, while adding that a team of senior lawyers of the party were keeping a close watch on the case and would intervene at the 'right time.'
