The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared results for the Central Teacher Eligibility Rest, held on September 21 across 962 centers in India.

Although city-wise breakup of those qualifying for the exam is yet to emerge, 11.95% of over 2 lakh candidates who took the exam across the country qualified for paper 1, while 2.89% of 4, 59,268 passed paper 2.
RK Mahajan, the director of a local coaching centre, said while the pass rate has gone down for paper 2 since last year, local students have done well.
"From our academy, 132 students have cleared the exam," he said. CTET is the basic requirement for those seeking a teaching job at Chandigarh government schools. Sources said that the UT education department would soon fill up over 1,000 seats.
