This is a unique initiative wherein the visually impaired become part of the rally by navigating the rally drivers on the basis of a braille road map.

The second edition of the 'Blind man car rally' was flagged off by Sukhchain Singh Gill, senior superintendent of police (SSP), UT and Kamlesh Kumar, DPI (Schools), Chandigarh. The rally was organised by Round Table India, a voluntary organisation of young men between the ages of 18 and 40.

The rally saw a participation of 50 cars, involving equal number of drivers and the visually impaired. The rally was flagged off from the Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh, and after moving around the city for around 50kms, ended at the institute itself. The driver was unaware of the route and was totally dependent on the directions given by the visually impaired student on the basis of the braille route map. The rally was judged on a normal TSD (time/speed/distance) format.
