Gogi also alleged that religious 'diwan' was organised at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib on the Jor Mela. However, SAD converted it in to a political conference.

Claiming he was still an SGPC member as the previous executive committee of the SGPC was still functioning, Gogi, who had joined the Congress before last Lok Sabha elections, said he wanted to make only religious speech and had requested the state secretary to allow him to address the congregation twice.

He alleged the political speeches were made by the SAD leaders at the religious congregation and that he would approach the Akal Takht over the issue. Reacting over the allegations, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said Gogi was not an SGPC member now. He also denied of making any political speech from the stage.
