Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Thursday that the Congress contesters for 16th Lok Sabha elections were scapegoats who were trying their best to include their rival leaders in their “Scapegoats Club”.
Addressing a gathering in favour of Patiala SAD-BJP candidate Deepinder Singh Dhillon, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that leaders like Partap Singh Bajwa and Manish Tewari tried their best to run away from contesting Lok Sabha elections, but were now pushing for Amrinder’s candidature from Amritsar.
“There is a trouble brewing for the Congress as the party’s central election committee meets to decide on the next list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Senior Congress leaders were not keen on contesting general elections fearing loss; thus, contesting leaders were feeling like scapegoats and they were leaving no stone unturned to include rivals into their Club”, Sukhbir Singh Badal added.
Forecasting that the 16th Lok Sabha elections would be “the last election of the Congress party”, Sukhbir said that people of the nation were all set to bid final good bye to Congress, and its senior leaders were well aware of this fact.
Sukhbir said the citizens were fed up of the anti-people and corrupt policies of the Congress and its allies.

Senior Congress leaders from Punjab are scared that their party will never come back to power as it never regained power in the states where it was out of power for two consecutive terms. SAD is flooded with requests from Congress leaders wanting to join the party”, he added.
