The Indian National Lok Dal chief and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala on Thursday accused Congress MLA of buying favours from Robert Vadra, son-in-law of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi by selling him 29-acre land in Mewat district – a part of national capital region - at a discounted rate in lieu of party ticket and other personal gains.
Alleging that if probed properly, the land deals undertaken by the Congress government led by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Haryana would turn out to be the mother of all scams, Chautala demanded a judicial probe by a serving judge of Supreme Court of India.
Chautala alleged that Congress MLA Aftab Ahmed from Nuh had bought the favour of party election ticket from none other than Vadra by selling off 29-acre land of Shakarpuri village in Mewat district at a huge discounted price. For this, Ahmed was also given a major gain of his ancestral land in Khanpur village in the master plan of Mewat district (also in NCR).
Chautala who also questioned the ownership right of Ahmed of the Shakarpuri village land held that while the collectorate price of an acre land of that village was Rs 16 and market price over Rs 50 lakh, the 35-acre land was sold to Vadra at a price of about Rs 2 lakh an acre. Chautala supplied photocopies of land registries to the media persons to drive his point home.
Chautala also referred to various court orders in which it had been found that the Hooda government had been acquiring land from farmers to sell them off to real estate giants such as DLF and Reliance at throw-away price. "One also smells a rat in the said deals as
following the allegations only officials – who have been handling these deals for the past eight years - come out to defend Hooda government by giving information to mislead people," Chautala said questioning as to why not the government had come out in open to face the same.

"It is shocking to see how Hooda who had offered to set down if even an inch of acquired land would be found to have been given to realtors, is keeping mum despite various court orders and
revelations," Chautala questioned referring to cases reported from Manesar, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Sonepat, Kurukshetra and Pinjore-Kalka townships of Panchkula district.
