"If any decision is to be taken, then all the pending issues should be considered keeping in view the decisions and awards of various courts and tribunals," he said at the Northern Zonal Council meeting here.

Earlier, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had raised the issue of transfer of Chandigarh and other Punjabi speaking areas to Punjab.

While responding to Badal's points regarding Ghaggar channelisation and Lisara Nallah, Hooda said that earlier Ghaggar channelisation on a 20-km stretch caused floods in Haryana in the year 2010.

Therefore, the behaviour of earlier channelisation needs to be watched for some more years before Ghaggar standing committee can take up the issue, he said.

As regards Lisara Nallah, Hooda said that Punjab shall not insist on earlier alignment as 2,000 acres already stood returned to farmers.

Punjab shall take up Lisara Nallah water to river Satluj through Chandbhan drain as it planned in 1960s, he said.
