It started after the two boys “giggled at” a girl. The girl immediately called her parents. The matter worsened when the relatives of the girl accused principal Sunita Singh of not taking stern action against the boys, while the principal claimed ignorance saying that the class teacher did not inform her about the incident. Heated arguments ensued, and both sides called the police.

The argument reached a level when the principal suspended the boys, and the girl’s parents threatened to move a formal complaint of sexual harassment (‘eve-teasing’) against the boys.

But it ended after the relatives of the girl agreed not to pursue the matter further on the condition that the school issue the boys a “final warning” and take a written undertaking that they would not repeat such acts.
