Number of workers gathered outside deputy commissioner's office and raised slogans against the administration over fee hike issue, implementation of Rashtriya Uchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and ban on students' college association election in colleges and HPU.

“Increase in fee by the HPU administration and throttling of students agitation by the authority has forced us to come out on the streets to support students' demands”, said CPIM leader Hotam Singh Sonkhla.

The fee hike would directly impact the common man of the state, who are feeling helpless over the decision of HPU, added Sonkhla.

He alleged that the state government was trying to cope out from heavy debt by increasing the fee and it cannot be accepted at any cost.

CPIM workers urged the state government to look into the matter and make efforts to consider the demands of students otherwise CPIM would intensify its stir.
