Shakuntala Tiwari, 63, the mother of Daily Post editor-in-chief and managing director Manish Tiwari, breathed her last around 2.30 am on Monday at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, after prolonged illness.

She is survived by her husband Rameshwar Tiwari, a veteran journalist, sons Manish and Rajnish Tiwari, a software engineer, and daughter Namita Nainwal, an electronics engineer. The cremation took place at 3.30pm here on Monday.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise. Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda also expressed condolences.
