Day one of admissions: Over 2,500 seats filled in government colleges

Government colleges in the city saw over 2,500 seats being filled on the first day of admissions. Most of the seats allotted were in science, bachelor of business administration (BBA) and bachelor of computer application (BCA) streams. Admissions for reserved seats in these courses will be undertaken on Tuesday.

Government colleges in the city saw over 2,500 seats being filled on the first day of admissions.

Most of the seats allotted were in science, bachelor of business administration (BBA) and bachelor of computer application (BCA) streams. Admissions for reserved seats in these courses will be undertaken on Tuesday.

Among all the courses, only BBA and BCA courses had centralised admission. Government College for Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 42, had the highest cut-off for BBA: in the UT pool, the cut-off was 77.6%, while 93.6% was the highest marks in the list.

BCA had total of 350 seats in four government colleges and among them, Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11 had the highest cut off of 76% in UT pool.

MCom subject also saw high cut-off. Government College for Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 42, had a cut-off of 81%. The highest score in the list was 99.9%. The merit list at Government College, Sector 46, stopped at 74% on the first day, while 83% was the highest marks on the list. Arts stream also got a huge rush on the first day.
